Balled Up Dixy is a Homage to the roaring twenties in regard to the use of colour and shape. Balled up is slang from the 1920's and means 'confused, messed up'. Dixie refers to the early and late 1920s. Dixieland music as well as my dog Dixie. Nowadays it refers to the use of spherical shapes.

Balled Up Dixy is een homage aan de "roaring twenties" wat betreft het kleur en vorm gebruik. Balled Up is straattaal uit de jaren twintig en betekent, "verward, ondersteboven". Dixie verwijst naar de Dixielandmuziek uit de twintiger jaren als ook mijn hond Dixie. Tegenwoordig slaat het op het gebruik van ronde vormen.

As a lover of art as well as history and preferably a combination of these two, I am purely driven by my own personal taste. I ask myself, would I buy this? Will it look good in my my house or the house of people I know? Next to this simplicity and usability appeal
to me in my designs.

Als een liefhebber van kunst en geschiedenis, en bij voorkeur een combinatie van deze twee,
ben ik voornamelijk gedreven door mijn eigen smaak. Ik vraag mezelf af, zou ik dit kopen? Past het in mijn interieur? Naast deze zaken, speelt eenvoud en uitvoerbaarheid een grote rol in mijn designs.
